POSTION SUMMARY

The role is a Senior Manager Search and Evaluation, within the Corporate Development function, reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Development. This position requires an ability to quickly grasp the biological underpinnings of new disease areas and apply this understanding to develop new hypothesis on potential avenues for therapeutic intervention.

The individual chosen for this role will:

• Proactively source potential clinical stage assets using a variety of databases, secondary research sources, by attending partnering conferences, networking, and staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.
• Assist in the assessment of new in-licensing and acquisition opportunities.
• Conduct interviews with key opinion leaders as needed to gain insights into new disease areas and new therapies in development.
• Update and maintain a business development database to track partnering opportunities.
• Maintain a dashboard of ongoing opportunities and communicate status of ongoing deals to key internal stakeholders on a timely basis.
• Prepare opportunity assessments and summaries for executive-level audiences.
• Coordinate team diligence efforts including scientific and clinical reviews and commercial assessments.
• Participate in strategic projects to support corporate development initiatives.
• Manage outside consultants as needed to support new opportunity assessments.
• Work with the R&D team to assess the technical feasibility and fit of potential of clinical stage assets with existing product pipeline and company capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

• A PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or Pharm D. with a keen scientific acumen and strong interest and/or experience in biotech/pharma. An MBA is a plus.
• Management consulting background is desirable.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
