POSTION SUMMARY

This position will play a key role in supporting Mirum’s Investor Relations department. The role partners closely with VP Finance and Investor Relations as well as with members of the Mirum’s senior leadership and with external agency partners. This role will be instrumental in supporting the development, evolution and execution of Mirum’s investor messaging and overall investor relations strategy.

The role requires a solid understanding of investor relations and public relations, as well as excellent writing and content development skills. The position operates at the highest levels, requiring a solid business acumen to build trust and collaborate effectively with our executive team. 

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development and execution of a strategic plan for Mirum’s short-term and long-term investor relations strategy.
  • Craft compelling investor communications (tailored by medium and audience) that elevate Mirum's reputation and deliver key strategic messages.
  • Lead the preparation of the management team for investor events; including the development, drafting and maintenance of investor materials, including corporate presentations, press releases, conference call scripts, Q&A documents and investor/analyst days.
  • Drive the development of Mirum’s investor engagement strategy supported by analyses of Mirum’s shareholder base and interactions, development of reports summarizing trends, investor profiles, and target identification.
  • Develop great relationships with covering and prospective sell-side analysts.
  • Support the development of accurate and timely responses to inquiries from investors and analysts.
  • Collaborate with other internal company communications leads to ensure integration and alignment with strategic direction, corporate narrative, and internal and external communications campaigns.
  • Support the development of internal messaging and ensure that communication among internal stakeholders is consistent with external messaging where appropriate.
  • Provide general project support for external initiatives, projects, and events.
  • Manage compliance for all external communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA or other advanced degree in a scientific area is preferred.
  • 7+ years of combined Investor Relations & Corporate Communications experience in a rapidly growing life sciences firm.
  • Pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and video conferencing tools. IR Insights knowledge a plus.
  • Strong written & verbal skills with demonstrated ability for crafting compelling presentations and public materials.
  • Ability to simplify complex medical/scientific info for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to blend strategic and operational thinking with strong business acumen and knowledge of the company's markets/products and industry trends.
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while building strong relationships.
  • An understanding of the sensitivity around material non-public information and function of communications for a publicly traded company, ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Self-starter with a keen eye for detail who can handle multiple simultaneous projects.
  • An understanding of financial modeling used by investment professionals to assess and value an organization’s performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and connect with all levels (internal & external).
